Who i am
Originally from Roanoke, I attended Roanoke College for my Bachelor’s, graduating in 2010 and received my Master’s from Hollins University in 2013. I went on to study Hospitality and Tourism Management with a focus in Corporate Governance at Virginia Tech until 2015. In 2016, I moved to Radford with my oldest son and since that time, we have made Radford our home.
I started working for Radford City Public Schools in 2020 and then became an adjunct faculty member at Radford University in the Parks and Tourism Department in 2022. My twins arrived in 2023 and I am now teaching as an adjunct faculty member in the Student Success department at RU.
I recently ran for the Radford City School Board in 2024. Not gaining a seat, I decided to continue my passion and determination for making a difference within my community by joining Community Works NRV and the Radford City Democratic Committee. In May, I was recognized as one of the ‘40 under 40’ by the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce for my dedication to leadership and service in Radford.
I have sought to run for Commissioner as I believe that all citizens deserve an advocate in their corner. I have a fierce determination to work hard, serve our community and learn every facet of the Commissioner’s role. ‘Experience matters’ is a falsehood. Many constitutional officers come from varied backgrounds that give them the skill set that they need to learn their job and do it extremely well. I have been in touch with several Commissioners in our state and have started researching on even more ideas! Thinking outside the box with an open mind set is exactly what Radford needs right now.
Once again, thank you for your support and I look forward to serving Radford!
